The larger test distance allows a chamber to be installed that can accommodate larger diameter turntables and bigger EUT’s (Equipment Under Test). This offers a cost-effective solution as the chamber can be used for a variety of standards to give you a multi-functional solution to your testing requirements.

The 5m Semi-Anechoic EMC Test Chamber is designed and manufactured to meet the dimensions, weight and required test standards of larger products. With an external height of 6.0 meters, the test chamber can perform sweeping height antenna measurements from 1.0 to 4.0 meters whilst seamlessly coordinating with the flush-mounted turntable installed in the test chamber.
The modular shielding system enables the test chamber to be designed for larger product ranges by increasing the dimensions in 100mm increments. A large range of high-performance accessories allows all services and penetrations to be integrated into the shield, without compromising the shielding performance.
All test chambers require a point of entry. The design and manufacture of the shielded door is critical to both ease of use and shield effectiveness. Each shielded door is handcrafted in Great Britain to the exact dimensions required. This ensures the equipment under test can be easily transported inside the test chamber regardless of weight or size. With a full range of ultra-low friction manual swing, pneumatic or sliding doors entering and exiting a test chamber has never been easier.

A 5-meter test distance between the antenna and equipment under test is available in this test chamber. Emission limits from 3 and 10-meter measurement distance can be calculated at 5 meters using guidance from the standard.
Semi-Anechoic
The walls and ceiling are lined with anechoic material to absorb reflections of electromagnetic waves inside the chamber. This creates a stable and repeatable environment to perform testing, mimicking and open area test site (OATS).
EMC
Electromagnetic compatibility or EMC testing gives the manufacturer of a product the ability to demonstrate the ability of their product. That it can function without causing interference to other devices (Emissions) and can also work satisfactorily in the proximity of other electrical and electronic devices (Immunity). The 5m-SAC-C can be used for both Immunity and Emission testing.

Having a smaller footprint than larger 10-meter compliant 10m-SAC-C test chambers, the 5M Semi-Anechoic EMC Test Chamber provides a superb solution for a compliant EMC test chamber. The increased volumetric space from a 3 meter compliant 3m-SAC-C provides space for larger turntables and greater NSA performance.

Shielding Effectiveness tested to EN50147-1
Every Global EMC anechoic chamber is provided with a Faraday cage shield. The shielded enclosure provides both an area free from external ambient signals but also protection during Immunity testing for personnel working outside the chamber.
The measure of shielding performance is conventionally known as “shielding effectiveness”. 100dB in plane and microwave frequencies is generally regarded by most standards as a very high level of shielding suitable for scientific use.
Global EMC offer two levels of shielding Standard and Extended Performance. Standard performance is suitable for most shielding requirements and is typically seen in commercial testing situations. Extended Performance is usually used in high-performance Military applications along with certain high frequency needs.
