EMI Shielded Doors

Global EMC’s high performance EMI shielded doors are one of the fundamental parts of any anechoic chamber, Faraday cage or shielded room.

Each door is carefully designed and hand crafted by Global EMC to ensure maximum performance and usability.

The precision engineering and precise fit means the every door can be manually opened and closed easily by hand without the need to be power assisted.

Using a single leaf design, each door can be made to a bespoke size between the clear opening dimensions of 900mm to 1300mm in width.

All doors are low maintenance due to the unique design, using an almost zero friction mechanism.
Global EMC’s Shielded doors are available in two options. Standard personnel door SPD7000, suitable for most applications and the Extended range EPD7000 door for when additional performance and increased shielding effectiveness is required.

Our Extended range door (EPD7000) gained industry recognition and was awarded a Government smart award for design and development.

Suitable from 10 kHz to 40 GHz, the EPD7000 door is independently verified to perform at greater than -100dB of shielding effectiveness from 200 kHz to 18 GHz.

Sliding Doors

Global EMC’s high-performance sliding doors are one of the fundamental parts of any anechoic, Faraday cage or shielded room. Each door is carefully designed and manufactured by Global EMC to ensure maximum performance and usability. The mechanism interfaces are all on roller bearings for smooth X and Y motion of the door away from the chamber and sliding across the chamber opening. Upon closure operation, the sliding door leaf meets the frame and pulls the door leaf in to make an RF seal.

The latching is provided by a parallel acting carriage having an up and down motion, this ensures the four-point latch always keeps the door normal to the frame so that miss-alignment is negated. A safety feature is provided to the door via an external mechanism so that if damage occurs to the door, external latches can be unscrewed and the door manually opened. The door comes complete with emergency back-up systems so that in the event of a power failure it is still possible to operate the door.

The size of the door is bespoke to requirements but can be from 900mm (W) x 2000mm (H) pedestrian door to 6000mm (W) to 6000mm (H).

Shielded Windows

Global EMC’s shielded windows provide a solution for Faraday cages or shielded rooms preserving the integrity of the electromagnetic shielding. The window can be used for observation, monitoring or for natural light inside the room. Shielded windows contain a highly conductive layer of film that is grounded to the shield of the Faraday cage.

Each window is made to bespoke measurements to suit the application but standard measurements are: 600 mm (H) x 600mm (W) x 7mm (D).

Each window is manufactured in a galvanised steel frame and using a conductive gasket that creates continuity across the opening.

A second layer of glass can be incorporated into the frame to give laminated glass, shatter proofing, insulating or bullet resistance to BR-1S/ BR-1NS.

The visibility through the shielded window is comparable to that of smoked glass.
