Universities and hospitals have an increasingly “polluted” environment due to high current cables, Wi-Fi, wireless signals and other electrical equipment.
To perform Electroencephalogram (EEG) tests without the risk of interference and ambient background noise affecting the sensitive measurements, shielding is required. Global EMC’s EEG Shielded Rooms is designed specifically for use in medical or educational environments to provide optimised performance at VLF/ELF frequencies.
This helps protect the highly sensitive test equipment inside the room from external interference and provides a stable and repeatable testing environment

More About This Product
The EEG Shielded Rooms is a self-standing structure, suitable for installation in universities or hospitals.
It is constructed of a specially developed modular high magnetic permeability shield Iron+ ® that provides high quality and superb performance shielding.
Each room is internally finished with dimmable lighting, filtered mains power sockets, dark walls and carpets and silenced air conditioning systems. Waveguides and EMI filters are provided for data and equipment cabling.
Reducing Interference
Sound Dampening - For those looking at reducing noise, our EEG Shielded Rooms are available with added sound dampening and anti-vibration floor mounts.
Exposure Limits:
• ECG mains frequency field limits – 400nT p-p or 4mG p-p
• EEG mains frequency field limits – 200nT p-p or 2mG p-p
Shielding Effectiveness tested to EN 50147-1
Every Global EMC shielded room is provided with a Faraday cage shield. The shielded enclosure not only provides an area free from external ambient signals, but also prevents devices inside the room from transmitting outside the shielding, which is useful in applications such as forensic investigation rooms.
The measure of shielding performance is conventionally known as “shielding effectiveness”. 100dB in plane and microwave frequencies is generally regarded by most standards as a very high level of shielding suitable for scientific use.
Global EMC offer two levels of shielding Standard and Extended Performance. Standard performance is suitable for most shielding requirements and is typically seen in commercial testing situations. Extended Performance is usually used in high-performance Military applications along with certain high frequency needs.
